In some instances, yes, but it is not the best choice.

What are Heated Hoses used for?

Heated Hoses are used in many industries and processes to move viscous liquids that would otherwise solidify or become too thick. Other applications include condensation prevention, gas sampling, and freeze protection. They can be used in any situation that requires a pipe or hose to convey a media that should not be allowed to lose its desired process temp.

 

What is the best way to control the temperature of a heated hose?

One can use a fixed-temp device, an RTD or thermocouple.

 

Can cold-starts damage a heated hose?

Yes. Volumetric expansion of some materials can cause the hose core to rupture violently.

 

Can (Heated or Electric) Hoses be used outside or in wet conditions?

No, Conrad Heated Hoses are made to be used in dry environments.

 

Can a heated hose be used to heat swimming pool water?

No. Our heated hoses are not designed for swimming pool applications.
